Immunological Disorders

What Are Immunological Disorders/Immunodeficiencies?

The immune system helps defend and protect the body from “invaders” such as viruses, fungi, and bacteria.

If you suffer from allergies, your body’s immune system may overreact to certain allergens, such as food and pollens which may be innocuous for most people.   However, if you have an immunodeficiency disorder, your body’s immune system is compromised and has difficulty fighting infections. Primary immunodeficiencies are rare.

  • Multiple courses of antibiotics or IV antibiotics necessary to clear infections
